Good answer. Should have anticipated this from the terse instructions given in LG setup. Was using RF because Genie box was behind the screen. LG remote uses RF , so needed line-of-sight. It required me to do some rearranging.

I am having the same issue as @jrcallicott has. Just purchased a new LG 65SK8000PUA, programmed to control DirecTV box and it will pull up guide but when I click to enter a channel it will not function. Why?

I also have an RC73 remote and I can't get my LG remote to interact with Directv. I can watch Directv fine, I can pull up the guide (Little Rock Directv) but I can't click on an item in the guide and I can't change channels or anything like that with my LG remote. I am at a loss what to do. It's disappointing to have to wrangle two different remotes. This is such a common setup box, why wouldn't this be working?
